What are the dates for this year’s event?
Our event is always the last FULL weekend in June. This year’s Kruise of Klamath officially kicks off Thursday evening June 27th and ends at noon on Sunday, June 30th but we have some fun excursions planned before that (see Schedule tab) so plan on coming early!
Do I have to have my vehicle at the show ‘n shine to participate in the evening downtown cruise?
No, but it does have to be older than 1975 to cruise downtown and it needs to be registered prior to close of registration on Saturday at 9am. The same registration rates apply whether you participate in one event or all events.
If I enter a car in the Saturday show ‘n shine what can I expect?
Vehicles participating in the show ‘n shine are parked in rows by class to facilitate voting for the award winners of each class. If a group would prefer to park their vehicles together we can provide space off to the side but it does pretty much mean you’re out of consideration for voting.
We start parking cars at Moore Park for the show ‘n shine at 7am - you can line up earlier than that but you still won’t get to park before 7am. And yes, you will see a few cars skip the line and get parked before that but that’s because they belong to Board members and so they get parked early because they’ve got work to do! Cars must be parked by 9am - after that it just gets to crowded with vendors and the public to safely maneuver cars into place.
We award plaques to the top three cars in each class and the voting is done by Kruise registrants. Each registrants is given a ballot with 5-6 classes on it, along with Best of Show, that they use to cast their vote. 13 special awards (Best Paint, Best Ford, etc) are decided by the Kruise Board.
During the show ‘n shine DJ Strohmeyer will spin tunes, there will be a raffle along with a 50/50 drawing, we’ll have Kruise merchandise for sale plus there will be food and nonfood vendors.
Our goal is to start the awards ceremony no later than 2:30pm with the goal of getting everyone out of the park by 4pm.
Can the public attend Kruise events?
Yes, anyone and everyone is invited to attend the Kruise events. Some events are free (show ‘n shine, watching downtown cruise) while others require an advance ticket purchase (BBQs and sock hop) so check the Schedule page for event specific information.
Is there public parking at Moore Park for the show ‘n shine?
Only those with a valid handicap parking permit are allowed to park inside Moore Park for the Saturday show ‘n shine. There is limited parking in the Moore Park marinas so we highly encourage the use of the free bus shuttle between OIT and Moore Park. You can catch the shuttle which runs roughly every 30 minutes from the Purvine Hall parking lot (by the soccer field).
Where can I buy a Kruise of Klamath t-shirt?
You can purchase them online through our store or at Moore Park on Friday (11am - 4pm) and Saturday (9am to 3pm) of Kruise weekend.
